About ASLA
The African Survivor Leadership Academy (ASLA) is dedicated to empowering survivors of human trafficking and those on the front lines of combating this heinous crime. Our mission is to provide comprehensive training and development to survivors, frontline workers, and various stakeholders, including government entities, the private sector, academia, and civil society organizations (CSOs).
Our Approach
Survivor-Centered Leadership: At the heart of ASLA is the belief that survivors possess unique insights and resilience that are crucial for driving transformative change in anti-human trafficking efforts. We prioritize their experiences and needs, ensuring that their voices lead the way in shaping innovative prevention strategies and survivor-informed practices.
Comprehensive Training Programs: ASLA offers a wide range of training programs designed to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively combat human trafficking. These programs cover areas such as leadership development, advocacy, legal frameworks, trauma-informed care, and sustainable livelihood strategies.
Multi-Stakeholder Engagement: We recognize that eradicating human trafficking requires a collaborative effort across different sectors. Our training extends to frontline workers, government officials, private sector leaders, academic researchers, and CSO representatives. By fostering a unified approach, we aim to create a cohesive and effective response to human trafficking.
